Just saw a bit of the 1932 movie Freaks on tv, it's about a circus with deformed people. Such an old movie  filled with strange but interesting actors.. like the half woman/half man shown above.

And my holiday is over again

What i've experienced today (actually yesterday):

• Have been to Primark after a long time, they always make you buy something
• 13 year old schoolgirls cursing, smoking and yelling that they're strong women who can live without their exes
• Incredible end of February coldness which i definitely don't like that much
• A white stork walking down the street
• That you have to buy a 6€ ticket for getting a bike in the train (HELLO CO2! I'm gonna throw my bike away!)
• It's like waiting for my birthday but better

Happy Valentine

Today i drove to the beautiful village called Ridderkerk to get this HUGE teddybear. Looked pretty cool to carry around (R'kerk people aren't used to anything, so this was a pretty exciting sight for them) but have to confess; it's not mine and i didn't receive it from anyone either lol. A friend of mine had to buy for her brother's girlfriend.

Me: So what do you want?
Sister: A toffee milkshake!
M: Sure? Anything else?
S: Hmmz what if it's not good... maybe a Nuts McFlurry?
M: But you wanted a toffee milkshake all the time...
S: Yeah true gimme that!

M: So it's a milkshake for you right?
S: Yeah! Or uhhm.. WAIT NO! What about a Happy Meal??
M: Nooo please don't change, make up your mind and just tell me what you want!
S: Okay a Nuts McFlurry then. Or wait maybe a Lion... hmm... let's see.
M: NO NOTHING LET'S SEE WE'RE NEXT IN LINE AND YOU GONNA SAY IT NOW
S: Ohhh I don't knowww you're confusing me with your loud voice!
M: DAMN IT SAY IT OR I'LL JUST ORDER NOTHING FOR YOU!
S: Hmmz okay a Nuts McFlurry should be allright.

A memorable day today; IT WAS SUNNY! It felt soooo good and by the way i can't believe it's February already. In my mind calendar it's like January 11 or something..

Spring is coming!

Can't let the IFFR feeling go. Time for a song which will remind me of the festival cause they played live at one of the parties. They're Dutch and pretty cool.

Het hele festival is liefde

De films die ik zie, de sfeer die er hangt, de mensen die ik ontmoet. Alles is liefde op het IFFR. Het is echt hartverwarmend. Deze uitspraak is tegen cheesy aan maar toch.
Morgen vertrekt m'n eerste matey, terug naar Brooklyn. En zo zal langzaam de hele festivalgrond onder ons wegbrokkelen, om weer plaats te maken voor de kille dagelijkse stadsvloer.

En nu maar hopen dat de one love volunteer love even blijft en ik morgen m'n posterrol vind in het kantoor waar ik hem vergeten ben....

IFFR: Day 4

Went to this great movie A little closer after i met the sweetest director Matt Petock at IFFR. He's only 25 and this was his world premiere with three screenings at the Filmfestival of Rotterdam.
It was great to be there and hopefully it's the start of his interesting career!
